Associate Professor
of Psychology
University of Oregon

Dr. Phills co-leads the C2 (C-Squared) Social Cognition lab at the University of Oregon with Dr. Chanel Meyers.

He uses multiple methods to measure and reduce implicit biases with the aim to develop interventions that persist by targeting the unique prejudices and stereotypes faced by Black women and other people with intersectional identities.

Dr. Phills is interested in three fundamental questions:

  • What is implicit bias?
  • What causes implicit bias?
  • How can we reduce implicit bias?
